This horrible. That guy didn't even go to NIU anymore...so it wasn't like he was after people who made fun of him...embarrassed him, made his life hard, pestered him constantly, etc.....they were just no name students to him? I wish that if these people want to die...they just kill themselves without taking others. I've gone on "I've got a gun and I'm gonna use it on everyone" calls....because there is an argument with the wife, kids, etc. It's like, if you want to die, go ahead, but leave your wife/kids alone.
I know that sounds cold....but its the truth. Most people that have loaded guns pointed somewhere are beyond help from others. Either they are totally wired wrong upstairs...or they are going to die and nobody can stop them.
Now this incident is going to cause lots of students to stay away from college....to go to online universities. I don't blame them for wanting to do so. I wouldn't want to go to Northern or Southern, etc....knowing some mook...who graduated years ago...can just waltz in and kill me.
It's sad.....but if I was at Northern...I would probably be dropping and going home right about now...and hopefully could pick up where I left off online. Who knows what will happen now? Are colleges going to be like prisons? Metal detectors at each entrance to each building or doorway? 24 hour a day police at these posts? Random searches like at airports? I think we are heading that way.
