I am not from the Chicago area or even Illinois, but my brother is. He moved from Wisconsin to attend school there and start a family. Luckily he was not at NIU, but this hitting so close to home is terrifying. We see this happening more and more every day on the TV news and in the newspapers, but when it's right there next to you it really makes you think.
I wish the utmost strength to everyone at NIU and the parents and families who aren't able to be close to their relatives at this difficult time because they're not in Illinois with them.
Also- to those who are suffering a loss or injury, I am very sorry and please know that the nation mourns with you.
